#tbt October 1981: Johan Kriek beat the number 1 player in the world, John McEnroe, 3/6 6/3 6/3 at the Mazda Superchallenge tournament in Melbourne, Australia. Johan Kriek and John McEnroe have faced each other close to 25 times in their careers. They both played together on the regular professional tour as well as nine years on the senior professional tour with Jimmy Connors and Björn Borg. On the senior tour, Johan reached the number 1 world ranking in both singles and doubles.
