ITF Lexington South Carolina update: Another outstanding win by Jenna Thompson at her first ever ITF event. After beating a 17-year old opponent from Germany 6/3 6/1 this morning, 13-year old Jenna just beat the number 8 nationally ranked (ranked number 1 in Tennessee) junior player Sophie Abrams 6/3 6/0 to advanced into the final ITF qualification round. Congratulations to Jenna Thompson, ranked number 1 in North Carolina in girls' 14, to once again being selected to represent Team North Carolina in the prestigious Southern Cup. Jenna was the number 1 player on North Carolina Team, which finished 2nd overall after beating South Carolina in the gold section and losing to Georgia. Jenna Thompson has a lot of reasons to smile these days. She is the number 1 player in the girls' 12-and-under category in North Carolina, who was also recently selected to be the top player on the North Carolina Team at the Southern Cup that was played in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
