Luda Vasilyeva through to the round of 16 in Kazakhstan

ITF Pro Circuit Shymkent Kazakhstan update: Luda Vasilyeva won her singles main draw match against Irina Lidkovskaya (RUS) 6/0 6/1 today to reach the round of 16. Luda and her doubles partner also reached the quarter finals of the doubles main draw where they lost to number 3 seeded Ekaterina Klyueva (KAZ) & Sofia Smagina (RUS) 3/6 4/6. Daga Mrozek Kriek began playing tennis at the age of 9, in her native country, Poland, achieving the number 3 ranking in Juniors for three consecutive years. She has also excelled in collegiate tennis at Virginia Tech where she played for four years on a full athletic scholarship. She was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 1996 and was a member of the Atlantic 10 Championship Team from 1996 to 1999.
