Jenna Thompson – NC State U14 Clay Court Champion

Big congratulations to Jenna Thompson, the 2014 North Carolina State Clay Court girls’ 14 Champion! Jenna is still only 12. On her way to becoming girls’ 14 State champion, Jenna beat the number 1 seeded player 6/1 6/1. In the final, Jenna ended up also beating the number 2 seeded player. The tournament took place in Charlotte, NC and Johan Kriek was there to watch Jenna play most of her matches.
This is Jenna’s first major trophy in the 14-and-under category. Way to go Jenna!!! Great job State Champion!!

Meet the Author

Daga Mrozek Kriek began playing tennis at the age of 9, in her native country, Poland, achieving the number 3 ranking in Juniors for three consecutive years. She has also excelled in collegiate tennis at Virginia Tech where she played for four years on a full athletic scholarship. She was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 1996 and was a member of the Atlantic 10 Championship Team from 1996 to 1999.
