K-Swiss Kiawah Island Junior Championship SC Results

Good showing by our academy players at the K-Swiss Kiawah Island Junior Championship (SC L2) in Kiawah Island, SC this weekend.

Elijah Elie finished 3rd in the boys’16 division. Elijah lost to the number 1 seeded player and the tournament champion in a close match in the semi-final. Elijah also reached the boys’ 16 doubles final. Well done Elijah!

Caroline Garrido also reached the doubles final (girls’ 16) and ended up going all the way in the girls’ 16 consolation draw.

Kavir Kumar (16 years old) went all the way in the boys’ 18 consolation tournament.

Daga Mrozek Kriek began playing tennis at the age of 9, in her native country, Poland, achieving the number 3 ranking in Juniors for three consecutive years. She has also excelled in collegiate tennis at Virginia Tech where she played for four years on a full athletic scholarship. She was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 1996 and was a member of the Atlantic 10 Championship Team from 1996 to 1999.
