US Open Goes Polish 2011

The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York hosted a players’ party for some of this year’s US OPEN polish tennis players on August 27 at the Beaux Arts De Lamar Mansion.

Some of the players include the 2010 US OPEN runner-up and current number one in Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Singles Ranking, Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, as well as the current number ten and number twelve ranked woman players, Samantha Stosur of Australia and Agnieszka Radwañska of Poland. The guest list includes such players as Sabine Lisicki of Germany, Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia, Angelique Kerber of Germany, Aleksandra Wozniak of Canada, Alicia Molik of Australia, , Lukasz Kubot of Poland, Oliver Marach of Austria, Mariusz Fyrstenberg & Marcin Matkowski of Poland, and Peter Luczak of Australia, to name just a few. Our own Johan Kriek, the heavyweight boxing star, Tomasz Adamek, and the champion world-class Polish swimmer, Pawe³ Korzeniowski were also in attendance.

Video entertainment included the work of two renowned Polish sports photographers, Andrzej Kentla and Wojciech Kubik. AMBER Steak House provided Polish-American cuisine.
